description Located on a point jutting into Lake Michigan, Point Beach State Forest's six-mile beach is a great place to catch a wave or walk in the sand. Ride the popular Rawley Point Bicycle trail. The trail traverses through a pine and hemlock forest for 6 miles and connects to the mariners trail for an additional 6 miles.
drivingDirection Point Beach State Forest is located 5 miles North of Two Rivers, on Cty Trk O. From the South, take Hwy 42 North through the city of Two Rivers. When you see a Pick-n-Save grocery store on your left, go straight towards Lake Michigan at is point. You will then connect up to Hwy O, take this North until you see Point Beach use area signs. From the North, watch for Point Beach signs along Hwy. 42 directing you to the state forest. You will then take Hwy V East. Hwy V will then connect into Hwy O, take this South until you see Point Beach use area signs.

importantInformation Park open to 1st come / 1st served when off reservations. Vehicle admission stickers are required. Click here for cost of the sticker. Setting up your campsite is not allowed between 11 pm and 6 am. If all members of your camping party will not arrive at the same time, make sure that everyone knows the confirmation number, as well as the name of the person who made the reservation. The road that goes past Sites 32-62 is accessible only to trailers 20 ft or less in length. The outdoor group camp is designed for tents and small tent trailers. Winter Camping Sites 1-73 and 83-127 are not accessible when there is snow cover. Snow can occur from November through March. The road to sites 74-82 is plowed, and 4 to 5 sites are plowed open along this route. The showers and water are open until mid October and subject to weather conditions. In the spring, the water and showers will be open in May based on weather. Point Beach State Forest is open to hunting seasons beginning is mid September through the spring turkey season. Most of Point Beach State Forest including the Indoor Group Cabin areas is open to hunting during the hunting season, however, the area north of the park entrance road and east of highway O is closed to hunting and trapping. This area includes the family campground and picnic areas. During the period from October to mid May, personnel are on duty until 4:30 PM daily. If you will be arriving after that time, please contact our office to make arrangements for your late arrival. The group camp roads are kept locked to prevent unauthorized usage.
